Being a luxury car means different things to different people. For some, interior refinements like leather seats, climate control, and a name-brand sound system are the essential components of what makes a car luxurious. For others, it is a combination of performance and a smooth, quiet ride. A few demand details like an embedded analog clock, advanced electronics, and an exciting, yet refined exterior.
True luxury exists where everything comes together at once. Instead of sacrificing style for handling, or comfort for performance, the 2021 Lexus IS is built to bring all qualities together into one small executive sedan package. But not everyone needs every possible feature to enjoy their Lexus IS, so the model is available in three trims. Get to know each model and a pair of each one’s key features through the chart below.
Trim Level | Key Feature 1 | Key Feature 2 |
IS 300 | Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 | 241-Horsepower Turbocharged 4-Cylinder Engine |
IS 300 AWD | 6-Speed Transmission with Paddle Shifters | 260-Horsepower V6 Engine |
IS 350 F Sport | 19-Inch Staggered-Width Wheels | 311-Horsepower V6 Engine |
As is common with luxury cars, there aren’t very many trim levels, but the differences between each are more significant than a family sedan might have. Since each trim has a different powertrain, it is worthwhile to study out which powertrain suits your needs best before thinking about other features. The 4-cylinder engine is by no means underpowered, but if it falls short of your performance demands, either V6 option is sure to impress. Although not listed in the chart above, the IS 350 F Sport is available with AWD, but the powertrain and most other features are unchanged.
